Spinlock PowerClutch XAS - Single
Description
Spinlock Powerclutches have a low rope entry height, minimising friction on deck leads and blocks. They are suitable for all rope types with the cam and base gently gripping over a large area, reducing excessive wear. The cam profile is designed so that on release, the cam roll forward to back off the load, then disengages from the smoothest part of the cam. When the clutch is at maximum load, the cam rolls forward automatically, to ease the line instead of damaging the rope. The handles have a rubber insert to ensure that the opening action is positive and that accidental closing does not occur, with the handles also forward opening to minimise snagging by slack lines. As the holding power of clutches is in proportion to the rope diameter it is holding, a table is provided showing approximate loads that can be held at each diameter for each model. Localised sheathing of the rope at the grip position can significantly increase the holding load of the clutches.
